Please excuse the mess, I'm trying to create an amiga friendly site that will display correctly on Ibrowse, for the moment I'm goofing around with tables in HTML to try to build a layout I am happy with. I really should attempt to do this while sober =)

Welcome to my amiga webpage, I can't seem to get enough of these fantastic computers, I purchased my first amiga back in 1998 and have had it since then, in that time I've also had an amiga 1000, and an amiga 2000 for a brief period of time, but found the amiga 1200 to best suit my needs for a computer. While my little miggy does not get as much attention as it once did, I do find myself starting it up from time to time to goof around with.

I've managed to get it online via wireless, and it still is quite a capable machine despite it being nearly 20 years old. This is one of the things I really like about it, using old technology to traverse newer sites is amazing. A lot of people would disagree, but there seems to be a poetic feel to it all, and I can't seem to get enough of it.

Throughout the years, I've added little bits of upgrades to my amiga, and will continue to do so until it stops running. Right now the specs are as follows:

CPU: Motorola 68040 @44mhz
Memory: 32 megabytes.
Video: Integrated AGA chipset.
Network: Microsoft MN PCMCIA wireless card 11mps.
Storage: A 4 gig compact flash card interfaced via the IDE port through an adapter.

While I could just use UAE, it does not have quite the same feel to it. There really is something about my old computer that brings a rush of nostalgia, plus the feel of the keyboard, the old mouse, and well just the history I have with it. This amiga represents the longest I've held on to any computer, it has travelled with me from Maine to Florida, and it still manages to run like a champ.

Emulation is great, I do enjoy it and play with UAE. It is faster than my amiga, can display more colors, a higher resolution, it is certainly easier than moving around the house to switch beween my PC and amiga , but it still lacks that feel.

Pictured above is a screenshot of my desktop, and then one of my amiga. In the top picture, you can see I am streaming music using aminetradio. It does not seem like much, but for a computer that was designed in 1992, it is fairly impressive. Eventually I will get around to making more screenshots, such as browsing the web, playing games like Doom, etc. Right now my amiga is sitting on an old desk in my room, eventually I will convert my garage into a computer room and it will have it's own space.

This is just the start of this page, be sure to check back at a later time as I plan to include a lot more information regarding my amiga, apps I like to use, games, and emulation.
